God promised...

God promised never to destroy the world with a flood again, but after 4 days straight of rain it sure feels like we're all going down. I know we aren't getting it as bad as a lot of places and I am thankful for that, but here is my backyard. That can't be good for my grass! Maybe this is just some shameless movie promotion for Evan Almighty, which I hear is a decent family friendly movie.

PLEASE send some out west to us. Just not tomorrow during my garage sale.

3.58 inches in the last 3 days. About 2 of those inches in the last 24 hours alone. It seems to have mostly stopped for now, but it is still cloudy and could start again at any time.

4 days?! Try 2 months worth!! It's seriously getting old. We've had more rain so far this year than all of last year combined. I think we're up to 8 or 9 inches for the month of June alone. Where we live hasn't been as bad as some areas nearby - praise God! Hopefully it'll stop for our trip up there next week...

Try coming home to water in your BASEMENT. Yes, that's right, our FINISHED basement. We SO need this rain to stop! (deep breath).

We live on the edge of town so there are several wheat fields that we drive by regularly. Last week they were golden and ready to harvest. Tonight on the way to work they were gray and laying down :(

God said "the world." I don't recall him mentioning Wichita or the Dallas Fort Worth area. You'd better get out while you can. And PLEASE keep your rain to yourself until at least Thursday. We actually have wheat worth cutting out here-- most of it out there wasn't worth cutting 'cause of the freeze.

Oh, as a former wet basement owner I get really nervous. You should grow a beard and start walking with a staff.
